THERAPY
Also called "Psychotherapy" or "Talk Therapy." A proven, effective means of treating many mental health disorders. Therapy is more than just talk. It is treatment-driven, goal-oriented, and scientifically based. Therapy involves talking about and expressing feelings, understanding patterns of thinking and behavior, resolving trauma, gaining insight into yourself and others, and more. Our work builds a deep mutual connection based on trust, acceptance, and compassion. Our therapy is meaningful, "fun," and something children look forward to both in Individual and in Group formats.

PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING
Psychological Testing is a formal process of assessing and evaluating a person's mental health, behavior, personality and interpersonal functioning, or psychological processes. Psychological Testing can be conducted only by appropriately trained Psychologists. Testing is often requested to provide diagnostic clarification, deeper understanding of psychopathology, to help diagnose, to confirm suspected learning disabilities, to measure intelligence, and more. While "psychology tests" have become grossly popularized (almost every magazine has a "personality test" any given month) real psychological testing is highly sophisticated. When administered and interpreted correctly, testing is highly valid, reliable, and predictive.

FAMILY SUPPORT
Families are among the most important and powerful factors in a child's life. Support for parents, guardians, and family members is crucial, including support for non-disabled siblings--something often overlooked. Support may come in the form of therapy (Family Therapy, Couples Therapy, Individual Therapy) or may be educational or supportive in nature (Psychoeducational Groups, Support Groups, etc.)

SKILL-BUILDING
Mental health is more than just talk--it's action, too. Our well-being and quality-of-life are comprised, in part, by our "mental hygiene." We're not necessarily born with these skills and, indeed, many people have learned a few unhealthy habits along the way. Skill-building supplements and complements therapy, testing, and family support. For some children, it's all they need.
